Tom Stephani is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker, trainer, and consultant on issues relating to the residential construction industry. He also writes extensively for industry magazines and is a columnist for Custom Builder Magazine. One of Tom’s companies, Custom Construction Concepts primary focus is builder training for operations and sales and marketing for small custom builders nationally.
Tom is a Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and currently serves on the International Oversight Group. He is also the 2009 Chairman of NAHB’s 14,000 member National Sales & Marketing Council. Tom holds eight NAHB designations including GMB (Graduate Master Builder) and CGP (Certified Green Professional) and is a Member of the Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM).
On the local front, Tom Stephani was President of the McHenry County Home Builders Association in 1999 and has chaired many committees. Tom was named its Builder of the Year in 2000 and 2002 with his home building company William Thomas Homes located in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
William Thomas Homes’ development, Dole Crossing - a small in-fill neighborhood just a few blocks west of downtown Crystal Lake, won many awards including the ‘Pride in Crystal Lake Award’ (PICA), a first for a home builder.
